Intensives Available for January 2025!
Here are some of the most common questions I receive about working together. If you don't see your question answered below, please contact me.
I am an out-of-network provider, though in some cases you may be eligible to use your out-of-network insurance benefits for our sessions. If needed, we are able to provide you with a superbill, which you will be able to submit to your insurance provider. You are responsible to pay the full fee at the time of session.
Please call your insurance company to verify this information prior to our session if you are looking to use your insurance provider.
Teletherapy is just like regular therapy but from the comfort of your own home! I use a simple HIPAA compliant site that allows us to safely navigate our online sessions.
Teletherapy might be a good fit for you if you want the privacy and comfort of a space of your choosing, want to fit sessions seamlessly into your busy schedule, or just want to skip the process of traveling to a physical office.
In an effort to help with affordability, I do offer limited sliding scale spots, available on a first-come, first-served basis! During our initial consultation call, should you decide you would like to move forward, we will discuss the sliding scale fee per session.
Please contact me via phone or email at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your session. I require 24-hour notice if you need to cancel a scheduled session. Unfortunately, a late cancellation (less than 24-hour notice) or a no-show will result in a charge of the full session fee.
I do give all clients a one-time no-charge pass each year for missing a scheduled appointment.
In your first appointment, we will cover the basics about your confidentiality and remind you that our session is taking place in a private, confidential area. I will ask questions about how you’re feeling and doing now, what your childhood was like, important cultural factors in your life, what your relationships are like, and what your goals are in our work together. The first appointment will be a little different because of these questions, but you are always in charge of telling me what feels comfortable to you!
It varies, and it is difficult to predict. Therapy is often not a quick-fix, but it depends on various factors. If you have a single crisis and already have a lot of healthy coping skills and support, therapy may only take a few sessions for you to meet your goals. However, for many people, it can take anywhere from a few months to a year+.
The success of therapy can also depend on the frequency of sessions, and your commitment level and follow-through with taking actionable steps towards change in between sessions.
I provide consultation services for businesses, organizations, educators, and other mental health professionals. I am also available for speaking engagements, seminars, and workshops. Let me know if you would like to collaborate!
As of January 1, 2022, the No Surprises Act federally mandates that Good Faith Estimates be provided to clients. This means you are provided with an estimate of services based on having weekly sessions for 50 weeks in the year. If your child and family attend weekly sessions for 50 weeks your expected cost would be $6,250. You are entitled to file a report for any substantial overcharges ($400 or more). For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call (615) 741-5735.
